Partnership for Prosperity and Progress

I sat in the departure hall at Miami International Airport today, connected to my 30 minutes of free WiFi, to catch a part of the inauguration. Having heard the sounds, a few other Jamaican travelers huddled around my phone to see. We were all excited.

Of all the images I have seen of the swearing in ceremony for Jamaica’s ninth Prime Minister, this one is my favourite. Here are two most honourable, most outstanding Jamaicans, whose stories inspire me. I know it won’t always be easy, but I hope their exchanges, going forward, will be collaborative and as warm as this photo.

Andrew Holness is currently riding high, inspiring youth, and scoring cool points with his singing skills. Congratulations to our new Prime Minister, Andrew Michael Holness. A huge ‘Thank you’ for tremendous service must go to former Prime Minister, and Leader of the Opposition, Portia Lucretia Simpson-Miller. (She was looking great today!)
